Accessibility

The Academy aims to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA. This page says where it stands, including where it falls short.

## What has been done

Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content. Nothing depends on hovering or on a pointer.

Text meets the AA contrast ratio against its background, and no status is carried by colour alone — it is a word as well as a shape.

Headings are ordered, form fields have real labels rather than placeholder text, and controls announce their state.

The page-turning reader has ordinary previous and next buttons, so reading a publication does not require a gesture.

Transcripts and captions are part of the design and are not yet produced: no lesson currently has one. Until they exist this page will not claim otherwise, and no video will be published without them.

The site respects prefers-reduced-motion.

## Where it falls short

The reader renders publication pages as images, so text inside a publication cannot be selected or read by a screen reader. The transcript and the publication's description are the accessible route to that content today.

The Academy has not been audited by anyone outside the team that built it, and a self-assessment is not an audit.

## Telling us

If something here is unusable, write to contact@unescocp.academy and say what you were trying to do. A specific report is worth more than a general one.
