UNESCO Center for PeaceAcademy

Terms of use

These terms cover using this website. They are short because the site currently does a small number of things.

## Who runs this

The Academy is operated by the UNESCO Center for Peace, 129 West Patrick Street, Suite 15B, Frederick, MD 21701, United States. The Center is an independent civil-society organisation and a flagship member of the U.S. Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers & Associations. It is not an organ of UNESCO and does not speak on its behalf.

## What you may do

Read the catalogue, take the free first lesson of any course, and read any publication in the library in full, without an account.

Take a course you have enrolled in, for your own learning.

## What you may not do

Share an account. A certificate is a statement about one person's work, and an account used by two people cannot support that statement.

Redistribute course material, except where a publication's own licence permits it — each publication states its licence on its page, and where that licence allows redistribution, it governs and these terms do not restrict it.

Attempt to reach material you have not enrolled in, or to interfere with the site's operation.

## Certificates

A certificate says that the named person met the published completion rules of the named course on the stated date. It is not a degree, it is not accredited, and it does not confer academic credit at any institution unless that institution says otherwise.

A certificate may be revoked if it was issued in error or if the work behind it was not the holder's own. A revoked certificate continues to verify, and reports that it was revoked.

## Payment

No payment provider is connected to this site yet, so nothing can currently be purchased through it. When one is, terms of sale and a refunds policy will be published here before any payment is taken.

## Accounts and closure

You may close your account at any time by writing to contact@unescocp.academy. Your personal details are removed; issued certificates keep their serial and credential, because a verifiable record that disappears was never verifiable.

We may suspend an account that is being used to break these terms, and will say why.

## Changes

These terms carry a version number below. Material changes are published here, and the version you agreed to is the one recorded against your consent.

Version 1. Consent recorded against this policy references this version, which is why the number is printed rather than hidden.
